G21 LvL 10 barb Capture

okay guys, well my attack didnt go to plan i made the mistake of leading with the wrong hero. a 75 attack hero. not good you definately need a 100+ attack hero. and probably good to have all your heros you are using in your waves to about about the same to take minimal losses.

its no good telling you what i sent since i only just pulled off the first hit successfully.

80-90k archers 12000 balistas is perfectly fine to bust a lvl 10 barb, make sure you have that 100attack hero though. (i accedently put in 995 battering rams which i feel is why i didnt lose everything and just my archers and under half of my balistas) wont hurt to have them though they will slow down your attack a few more min.

but in my messed up attack i found out something golden, even though i lost 80% of my army, i still took the barb in under an hour and a half.

Once you bust the main defences. have your second wave of 20k warriors 15k archers right behind it. than have a few waves of just 20k warriors, 20k swords, 20k pikes behind that.

and once they hit have another wave of 20k warriors and 15k archers on their way, with waves of 20k pikes, 20k swords 20k warriors. (note that the pikes and swords and warriors are individual attacks after the mixed 20k warrior 15k archer attack)

They have to be seconds apart guys to be fully effective and to minimize losses.

Also have 2 groups of these going.

1defence buster and 5-8 waves behind it. then what ever time it takes your attackers to return have it so you have another defence buster and 5-8 waves going. and keep doing that and its yours in no time.

here is what my first attack should have been.

the first one is a once only, the second one is a defence buster. then the third is one of many of the exact number of troops in waves

so the 20k archer 20k warrior, busts the rebuilt defences, then seconds after a wave of 20k warriors, then another wave of 20k warriors after, and another. then you wait till they return, and send another. if you use more than one castle do this step from both of them, dont bother mixing the attacks. send your 20k archer 20k warrior, and waves of 20k warriors seconds apart behind them.

using this method its possible to take a lvl 10 barb in 20 minutes with minimum losses.

though its not for the feint hearted. you have to be quick and organised.

i always thought we were building swords for defence, not attacking barbs.

i think we need an outline laid out on attacking lvl 10s , and what research the person has, attack hero sent, and what each wave has in it.
most of us don't have 50-60k swords. if i combine mine, i might have close to that out of 4 cities

well the idea would be not to go for a 10 untill you have the army to do it

and might aswell use swords while they arent defending against anything only lost between 150-400 each wave

It's that number of ballistae I can't get to. Also, the timing of the 2nd wave for the returns. I thought I would fill my 2 closest towns (to a lvl10) with all my troops & hit from just the 2. Not sure if that will work though.

using 20k swords for waves is less costly in total, but expensive to replace even the 100-150 losses per hit. though be mindful that they are faster than warriors.

Awesome ghostie - are you able to post up your starting numbers of the units, just roughly

actually they were in the post with the screen shot of my armies, but yeah ide recomend having 12000-15000 balistas, 150000 archers 250000 warrios on hand before attempting, that way you have a little extra to cover your losses.

Timing is everything. Having a barb 4 miles or closer is ideal . I lost a lot of warriors but I learned a lot. They can be replaced fast. I lost 47k archers which isn't too bad. I did find that the second attack of each wave( the one directly after the defence buster) should have swords with it. I dropped the loyalty faster that way towards the end. 20k with 20k warriors is a good follow up immediately after defence buster then followed by 20-25k warrior attacks close together. Using two towns is good as long as they are close to each other. Ideally you want one wave hitting while the other is returning. But the time to reach the barb will be different from each town so eventually the waves might end up hitting at the same town. When I decide to do another I hope to lose a lot less warriors. My second and third waves didn't have archers and warriors together just warriors and I lost a lot that way until I changed it

Notice that main attack isnt called the defence buster, the main attack is the one off attack, the other two you do in repitition

but good try none the less sack well done indeed!

but i think it needs to be explained that the main attack is done once, and then it's defence buster wave, then warrriors, and when they all return, it's defence buster again with archer, followed by as many waves of warriors as possible. and repeat.
that's the mistake i made in the beginning. then learned. but even towards the end i lost a couple of huge numbers of warriors even though they were behind the defence buster.
